Love it or list it is truly what I believe any homeowner should do: you either love your house, or you list it and move on until you find the right home.

This is the main focus that drives me when staging a house. I approach the decor of each house as if it were my own, and my passion for decorating frequently results in the creation of a space that the sellers hate to let go.

When someone puts their house on the market, it is usually because the space no longer meets the family’s needs. Perhaps a job change requires relocation, or children have moved in/out…or maybe the owners simply no longer love the space. The potential buyers don’t know the reason, but it helps the sellers greatly to ensure the house is staged to look its absolute best.

One of my jobs for staging a house is to return the “love” to the space. Simply decluttering, cleaning every nook and cranny, and manicuring the yard still begs the question: is this enough? If you weren’t in love with your house before, then your house will reflect it and most likely will not look desirable to a buyer.

I will invent a space that is both classically decorated and emotionally warm. A “loved” home sells much faster!

This is where Designs By Starr comes in. With my decorating skills, I can take on the task of making your house look both loved and magazine ready. A lifetime of experience and experimentation with design has helped me to learn the best combinations to achieve these results. Using either my pieces or your own home furnishings (or a combination of the two), I will invent a space that is both classically decorated and emotionally warm. A “loved” home sells much faster!

Below are several examples of the amazing difference that effective staging can make to improve the visual appeal of a space:
